How is ballot secrecy perceived in the US? Is it as important as in Brazil, a dictatorship in 60-80s and still riddled with voter coercion?

It's highly undervalued; many proposals from ppl you wouldn't expect to be naive/stupid seem ignorant that it's even a req/design goal.

Even if that happened, you shouldn't have to fake a picture to show your boss you voted right, so he gives you a raise.(one possibility)

No, you should be able to show the DA the email/voice recording/whatever requesting the photo and have your boss put in prison for 10 years.
