Folks at DefCon in the voting village: pls show PoCs of changing votes. RCEs are cool, but undetectable vote changes are how to drive change
No, banning selfies is more about voter suppression, culling enthusiasm, punishing selected groups for voting.

Selfies are not good evidence of how you voted, easy to fake.
-
If they became a common tool of vote selling, all sorts of meme-generator type sites to make fake ballot selfies would spring up.
-
Even if that happened, you shouldn't have to fake a picture to show your boss you voted right, so he gives you a raise.(one possibility)
-
He wouldn't even have to ask if you noticed all the other people that got raises were the ones that had selfies of their "correct vote".
-
I don't see this as being any different than the ones who had pro-whoever tweets/fb posts/etc. getting raises.
-
Either way it's very wrong and should be prosecutable when correlation is way too high to be by chance...
-
...but as long as ballot selfie is not strongly proof-like, it's more akin to public political speech.
-
It is a form of political speech, but I believe the need for a secret ballot out weighs that.
