Bootloader unlocking is well-documented by the vendor and there were no surprises. Lineage OS (CM successor) was easy to install.

I opted to omit GApps, instead installing microg to replace the missing services and a third-party Play store downloader (Yalp).

Haven't hit anything that doesn't work yet; Youtube, GMail, Google Maps & Translate apps all work fine installed as normal unpriv'd apps.

One nuisance, Camera app is perpetually bad & getting worse. No ISO setting anymore, easier than ever to accidentally delete pics.
