You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more

Yeah. And I don't even see a strong argument for saying it's not a valid username. Seems to match POSIX requirements for a portable one.
POSIX may be buggy though since it seems to imply all-digit names are valid but isn't very clear on how XCU utilities handle them vs numeric
fair point: that's a design weakness that needed but never really got a well thought through, designed, described, & implemented safety net.
It's actually worse. It's going "This starts with a digit but isn't a number, so I'm ignoring your whole User= line"
