My phone is dying. What's a reasonably-priced phone I can install a no-crapware version of Android on, have root, and be able to update?

It's an awesome little phone actually. Running LineageOS on mine and very happy. Only bother is the camera, which is slightly subpar.

I think unfortunately they're out, they're like two years old. But look for used ones on eBay if you're really interested

Totally not interested in used. Phones are made for 1-3 year single user lifetime. Don't hold up to wear. :(
