Missing The Point: not everyone has the luxury of being paid to work on upstream. grsec/pax is research w/paying customers.
The fact that the grsec patches aren't even remotely intended, and therefore cannot be trivially made into LKML patches, is a problem of
incompatible projects w/common codebase. It's no secret they're miffed that $millions is being spent to port grsec w/o them being involved.
So every time I hear that "grsec patches are awful" & "the code is ugly" is profoundly misunderstanding where grsec sits in the big picture
(it also misses that huge chunks of their patches *are* taken verbatim or with slight renaming; so the patches can't be *that* ugly)
