Chrome is suddenly preventing my machine (MacOS 10.12.5) from sleeping, even after erasing history and opening a single blank tab. Ideas?

Manually purge cached service worker scripts, found in the "Default" profile folder, in /.config/google-chrome - buried in Local Data dir.
