I like static linking! And dynamic linking! They're more of orthogonal things than two ends of a spectrum, IMO
Now your kernel needs to do dynamic linking in kernelspace. Yay for 80s-level security design.

AFAICT, this is basically how it works in Windows; seems to work. can still do COW & ASLR, albeit ASLR limited to per-boot...

there are pros/cons, but it is basically "tried and true" tech. though, eliminating some of the hair and cruft vs PE/COFF would be nice.

yeah I do not believe in any optimization whose chief purpose is "frees up a register". here's a nickel buy a real CPU architecture
