BIOS should follow the same principle as /sbin/init from https://ewontfix.com/14/ - out of the way after startup, no reason/need to upgrade.

I'm just trying to support your point. Alpha quality firmware has such bugs. Unfortunately, alpha quality firmware gets shipped to clients.

Well my point was that the firmware should be sufficiently simple and non-invasive (no ability to run post-boot) that bugfixes aren't needed
