(1) Why does Google allow "Google" (or homoglyph aliases) in the name of a service to grant access to? and...
(2) Why is allowing third-party apps access to your email *ever* an option? Uhg.
That one is for email clients that want more than IMAP.
But this shouldn't be something you can click through. There should be no way to auth an email client without first going in GMail Settings.
Auth initiated by the app that wants it, rather than by explicit user action initiated in existing trusted context, is ASKING FOR PHISHING.
OAuth is a valid protocol to demonstrate your identity to 3rd-party apps. It's NOT a valid protocol for giving 3rd-party apps access to acct
