Why can't we get synthetic sapphire eyeglasses? Abbe number 72.2 (!!!!) and high index of refraction.

Or else I'll just put a narrow band yellow filter on them & live in monochrome.

Do you really experience chromatic aberration with regular glasses?
I've never noticed that once in 25 years! -
Yes. You know the blue-circled red "open" signs? Viewed through side of lens, the word "open" is outside the circle.
-
Similar with multi-color tile mosaics. Tiles "shift" by color with turn of head, really messed up depth perception.
-
Definitely sounds like a case of thick, badly manufactured glasses. Make sure they didn't sell you triangular prisms by accident

-
Thick & cheap are generally much higher optical quality. Expensive trades optical quality for fashion.
-
Sounds like you just have very weak Rx.

I don't know how bad yours are, but I went back to 1.67 because of this, and got narrower lenses to compensate
-
1.67 is very high. CR39 is 1.5 or so. But Abbe value is what matters.
-
yeah; the Abbe of the higher-index lenses I got was evidently lower, enough that I had significant problems with monitors
-
I can't go below 1.67 except in very small lenses, unfortunately, and small lenses are hard to deal with too
