Or just remove the ability to launch stuff from your email client...
The point being, though, that mail apps are at fault for supporting & normalizing launching apps from mail.
Instead they should have embedded safe (sandboxed) viewers for content reasonable in email, & make opening in apps very manual.
yeah, although tbf if a ransomware-embeded document gets saved, then opened is the same result, user could get infected if
*nod* ideally though you also have macros hard-disabled in word, etc.
Filtering *sometimes* helps, but it's a poor substitute for closing the gaping attack vectors themselves.
indeed, but so far we've been successful in our env, most ransomware/phishing scam is blocked b4 users can see it...
of course, it's not the *only* measure in place
