Browser vendors need a policy that any & all TLS MITM is malware and unsupported usage & to work to actively break it.
Sorry, but no. That attitude will not get us anywhere. EDUs and ENTs need this. And a browser needs to work for them. It's hard.
why would anyone need MITM? As long as MITM works on TLS, TLS is broken.
It only works if you install a custom root CA on the client; the problem is that the user isn't made aware of this.
Browser should either remove support for custom roots, or show a constant red "you are under surveillance" warning.

Yes. Not only would it protect user privacy; it'd also remind users not to abuse rather than punishing them after.
