hey you're not doing anything, go turn on 2 factor authentication on yr Twitter: settings -> account -> security -> login verification.
Maybe. But "use a password manager and a strong master password" seems like much better advice.

I give that advice all the time. my experience is that strong password adoption is low.

Proper 2FA implementations give you a set of one-time use recovery codes to print out and store in a few places.

Key word being "proper". In practice almost none of them do that.

Google, GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab do that at a minimum. Not sure what restrictions they each place on recovery.

Google lets you remove the recovery email and you can disable SMS recovery / 2-factor. Comes down to support then.
