Google is currently forcing me to use 2FA to login without my consent. NOT happy.

Apparently now 2FA is mandatory if you're logging in from a "new device". Grrrr. Can't find a way to disable.

They have a bunch of options. SMS, voice call, Android phone's logged-in Google acct, etc.

But if my phone had burned up too (or been stolen, or...) I'd have no way to login (and thus no way to force-logout the phone).

Assuming you don't go typing your pw in stupid places, 2FA is a serious liability. Prevents login to lock out a compromised device.
