If you can't manually configure the port forwarding you want, you're not qualified to manage the risks of allowing inbound conns.

High-level router UIs are fine. The manual/explicit act of allowing access is what's important.

Same principle applies to app permissions. Automatic or click-through is not ok. Everything needs to be conscious opt-in.
