To @nytimes: Stolen documents are not "leaked." If someone robs your house, you don't say, "Oops, the TV leaked out the front door."
The distinction is whether their contents were subject to a legal or moral mandate for disclosure.

Drafts of legislation, treaties, illegal contracts, etc. "leak". Private emails, photos, etc. are "stolen".
