Following @CopperheadOS makes me more and more cynical about Android having any role as the future of user-facing FOSS.

Windows is not FOSS. The context you're missing is how the recent fails are failure as FOSS, inability to build from source.

...rather it's that Android cannot fill the empty space that is "mainstream user-facing FOSS" because it's not really FOSS.

The original tweet was basically about 1 thing: Android is NOT the fulfillment of the "Linux on the desktop" dream.
