Ad blockers can easily be tuned to stop these new Facebook ads. HTML tags used, image sizes, text around the ad, etc.

I'm not sure that is true. Facebook ads are a lot like their content, they can easily blur the lines.

They already proxy to track clicks, but the adblocker can follow that chain. Some do.

Inflating ad click figures is great because it ruins the value of their advertising platform.
