Facebook says bye bye ad blockershttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/10/technology/facebook-blocks-ad-blockers-but-it-strives-to-make-pop-ups-more-relevant.html …
Pretty simple - anything containing a link to a junk-quality site is an ad.

-
Most ads on Facebook go to the AppStore these days so… ?
-
Simple rule: appstore links are ads/spam. Throw in an exception for friends if you care to. I'd rather not.

fb could have all links go through fb proxy with a random url? No reference to 3rd party anywhere
-
They already proxy to track clicks, but the adblocker can follow that chain. Some do.
-
Which actually makes it worse because they inflate ad click metrics.
-
Inflating ad click figures is great because it ruins the value of their advertising platform.
