The idea would be to plug in a computer-on-usb/hdmi-stick.
Has anyone made a 'laptop'/'netbook' that's nothing but kb, usb hub, hdmi display, and giant battery?

Search for motorola lapdock. Also there's a kickstarter, but I forgot the name.
-
It looks like the same sort of thing, phone/android oriented rather than a general purpose netbook-form-factor kb+monitor.
-
True, but it's rather easy to build an adapter. I'm using it as a handy kvm for servers.
-
Three lapdock has a dedicated micro HDMI port, so it's easy to find an adapter to connect it to anything.

Does it depend on Android infrastructure to work or could you use it with an Intel Compute Stick or similar?
-
I think it depends on Android.

Hmm, it's modular, so you might be able to fit something into the pi top? https://www.pi-top.com

you mean the Motorola Atrix Lapdock? Or (almost) the Palm Foleo? I'd also like an updated device like this.
