.@RichFelker Need to implement https://github.com/copperhead/bugtracker/issues/306 … to deal with it. Can still switch to wrong app or leave around sensitive data though.

@RichFelker Clipboard managers are a valid use case, but it should be a permission marked as dangerous. Could also recommend a sane one. -
Clipboard access should only be possible via a "paste" key in the selected keyboard app, not programmatically from apps.
-
Ideally, but it's not clear how much that would break. No one will use CopperheadOS if there's too much friction involved.
-
couldnt it just do it but ask for permission? So auto pasting password managers would just be one extra click
-
this way sketchy alls like Facebook cant abuse it but it's still user friendly
-
Every access to the clipboard is programmatic access right now. The user selects paste and the app accesses it.
-
It's all well and good to propose changing how it works, but that requires a backwards incompatible API change.

Saw it happen myself, "suggesting" sharing a link the same way it "suggests" sharing new photos you've taken.

I guess I always knew that temporarily putting a password in a clipboard buffer was dangerous...
