Clipboard API should just be removed (stubbed). It's not needed and inherently dangerous.
FWIW, in configurations I use, JS clipboard API only affects the clipboard used by the browser & DE apps, not middle click paste.
On nasty sites that use JS to hijack c&p I actually have to first paste to URL bar, then ^C again, to be able to paste into terminal.
It's another one of the features added to gain feature parity with Flash, for better or worse. Security has a back seat.
