I use free tools at work, but I can't expense donations. Wish more tools were free to use commercially for 6 months to prove value to biz.

Support is a reasonable answer, but I think devs/projects need better info on how to structure offers.

Very few ppl know how to make real support for their core FOSS projects economically viable.

With Growl we ended up selling in the App Store and using a support company to handle things. Worked well

ed most commonly comes in "GNU" and "BSD" flavors, not "Enterprise". ;-) And always supports FOSS development.
