FWIW I'm specifically looking for what mainstreamy, desktoppy Linux distros people use, not other OS's.

@RichFelker I use ubuntu, but would be willing to move to Arch or Debian. Just am pretty happy with how it works currently -
@frioux@RichFelker I've been a happy Arch/XFCE user for a couple years now. -
@AlTobey@RichFelker I'll look more in depth at some point then. My stuff is configured by me so much that the main issue is stuff like wifi -
@frioux I've used systemd-networkd to configure wifi. It's easier than wpa_supplicant, more involved than NetworkManager. -
@AlTobey that's probably a good middle ground. wpa_supplicant sucks at a coffee shop for example. -
@frioux some folks like wicd as an alternative to letting NetworkManager take over their whole life. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless_network_configuration … -
@AlTobey I had some issues with wicd a while back but that was maybe 3 years ago. I suspect everything is better now.

Most interesting result so far is that Debian & Ubuntu are even. Haven't seen much yet in "other" that I'd call mainstream.

@RichFelker For other, I'm voting "Arch". FWIW I consider any distro that uses glibc "mainstream" -
@JPReganJR My view of mainstream would be more like top-10 by desktop install count. Dunno if Arch falls there, maybe.

@RichFelker Microsoft Windows. If I'm going to use something low-quality, ugly, and unhackable anyway, then I want to play games on it.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
