@codinghorror Those numbers sound bogus. SSD should be using at most a few mW idle. Fast HDD almost surely uses more than 5-7 W active.

@codinghorror And mW range idle. SSD will be spending small % of time writing, esp. assuming same rate as max you could write to HDD. -
@RichFelker depends on the use, though! Could be a lot of reads, could be a lot of writes, could be idle most of the time.. 2.5" vs 3.5"..
