"Regardless, we shouldn't be trying to redefine 'malloc'... merely because that was a good idea back in 1989." http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=22086#77 …
@laurentbercot It's Paul Eggert's comment. I just thought it was interesting evolution of FSF & Emacs attitudes.

@RichFelker "25 years later, the FSF starts understanding basic software design principles". I'd still wait for April 1st to post that. :P -
@laurentbercot Unlike some of our community I'm not stubbornly anti-FSF. I criticize when they screw up, highlight positive changes. :-) -
@RichFelker I still suspect you restrain yourself a bit because you have to deal with glibc people on a regular basis. I enjoy my freedom :) -
@laurentbercot It's more that I appreciate/enjoy systemic change that leads to better outcomes for larger numbers of people. -
@laurentbercot There's also still a good amount of FSF sw I use b/c, for my reqs, it's the best option avail, and I like when it gets better -
@RichFelker Oh, definitely. You're just more positive than I am - I'm still scandalized that expectations can be that low.
