I'm playing with @alpinelinux on @scaleway now. Can't figure out how to upgrade from the outdated default kernel yet tho.

@scaleway@alpinelinux Is there documentation of options and published source/patches for all the choices? Option to use custom? -
@scaleway@alpinelinux Presumably you could have the initial OS use kexec to boot a custom kernel but that sounds messy.

So far
@scaleway is interesting (and cost-effective!), but bare-metal seems like a misnomer given the lack of control over boot/kernel. -
@scaleway From a standpoint of control/flexibility/trust, having a hosting-provided kernel is more akin to OpenVZ/LXC. -
@scaleway Of course from a performance standpoint, lack of hypervisor vuln risks, etc. it's "bare-metal".

@richfelker@alpinelinux Wow, I actually might get one of those just an ARM testbed. -
@dev_console@alpinelinux Yep, I'm using it for a testbed for ARM port of@musllibc. Might move hosting there if it's good enough though.

@RichFelker@alpinelinux@thegrugq Looks awesome. Too bad email validation and password reset look broken. Maybe another time. -
@RichFelker@alpinelinux@thegrugq Also need some other payment forms besides me trusting them with CC
