Yeah, I do @musllibc, FOSS & infosec stuff. But now is not the time for a mostly-/only-tech Twitter feed.

Finally got @musllibc hosting moved back to a VPS after losing the old one in the Centarra fiasco. Let me know if anything broke.

New VPS is running @alpinelinux and using 30 MB out of 768 available. Not quite as efficient as the hand-rolled one @ 3 MB, but much easier.

Oh, I accidentally left an emacs running on the server. Now it's down to 5 MB used. Wow @alpinelinux!

@RichFelker @alpinelinux I'm interested in what you were running on the 3MB one: I guess only busybox and dropbear?

@laurentbercot And thttpd and git server. Same now. @alpinelinux uses bb and can use dropbear. Main diff is probably 32/64 bit (old was 32).

@RichFelker @alpinelinux bb httpd not powerful enough to serve musl? no superserver for gitd? everything supervised by runit?

@laurentbercot thttpd is a lot less resource-intensive than BB httpd, but the latter should work. I used BB inetd for gitd on old VPS...

@laurentbercot but let git-daemon run as its own service on the new one since Alpine already provided a service file for it.

@RichFelker Why is bb httpd heavier: because of the extra process? because of parsing the config file? both? I should benchmark sometime.

@Gottox I should try @VoidLinux sometime, but @alpinelinux is what I'm most familiar with and the Centarra mess already wasted enough time..

@RichFelker @alpinelinux is awesome too. They made porting voids packages to @musllibc so much easier. (OpenWRT was very helpful too)
