Hand scheduling ~300 instructions for Cortex-A9. Surely a compiler should be better at this than me. Nope. Not even close.
@stephentyrone Be prepared for #asmrot. Hand-written asm typically only stays faster for a year or two.

@RichFelker that ... has not been my experience. In any case, the assembly is now perfectly scheduled, so no chance of it being slower. -
@RichFelker and really, A9 is what, 5 years old now? Compiler architecture models should be about as good as they're going to get by now. -
@RichFelker I'm sure some grad student will write a perfect scheduler / superoptimizer 5 more years hence, but ...
