So it looks like I've been reported as a spammer on StackOverflow for referencing Autotools Mythbuster. Guess I won't be helping there.
@flameeyes @lu_zero_ SO generally has very reasonable policies on conflict of interest / self-promotion. You mainly just need to disclose.

@RichFelker@lu_zero_ The problem is not with the policy — the problem is with the users reporting people as "spam" when they are helping. -
@flameeyes@lu_zero_ Yes, SO has a pretty toxic policing culture. I keep telling them to go back to WP deletion. -
@RichFelker@lu_zero_ I mean, I could fuss over form and "disclosure" — but why spend the time in the first place? I don't *need* questions. -
@flameeyes@lu_zero_ There's a real problem with people posting product/book ads disguised as questions and/or answers on SO... :( -
@RichFelker@lu_zero_ I understand — and I would have reported myself if I linked to the *Kindle* version of A-M, rather than autotools.io -
@flameeyes@lu_zero_ I agree - I don't think you did anything wrong here. But that's why people are trigger-happy. -
@RichFelker@flameeyes I guess the best is just figure out when we can vouch for the fact there isn't any other source for that information.
