Just added TLSDESC support (https://www.fsfla.org/~lxoliva/writeups/TLS/RFC-TLSDESC-ARM.txt …) for 32-bit ARM to @musllibc: https://git.musl-libc.org/cgit/musl/commit/?id=0beb9dfbecad38af9759b1e83eeb007e28b70abb …
Even GCC itself botches this:https://github.com/richfelker/musl-cross-make/commit/e3e354f63a8804cd88cce39db7132463ef2391c7 …

The transition to TLSDESC on x86 was incomplete. The compiler of the day should have immediately switched to TLSDESC for all arches, but didn't. This meant people kept trying to use IE mode TLS. Enabling TLSDESC on x86 is the checkmate we need.

Why wasn't it made? AFAIK it's fully supported on x86 with both glibc and musl since a long time ago.

I don't know why. Why isn't it turned on now? I'd have to ask Alex Oliva about the history of that.
