Yeah, I do @musllibc, FOSS & infosec stuff. But now is not the time for a mostly-/only-tech Twitter feed.

Working in a pharmacy I have literally seen people cry and/or put back their groceries after seeing the price of their insulin.. if you don't see an issue with people spending everything they make to STAY ALIVE just for big drug company profit then you're the problemhttps://twitter.com/WebMD/status/1034523471894732800 …

One survey revealed that 45% of diabetes patients had gone without insulin because of the price. And in some cases, the consequences have been fatal. https://wb.md/2BO3W30  pic.twitter.com/rBYoEHCHgN

It's 2018. There is no excuse for not having insulin-producing cultures and a machine that sustains them and extracts and doses the output in the home of every single human who needs insulin to survive. The only reason we don't is vile human greed.

Nothing except the finitude of time and the fact that the responsibility to make this happen is on the parties who have made obscene profit exploiting people who need insulin, not random science & tech geeks who call them out on it.

Do you truly believe in that? If production of the insulin is such easy task that it can be done so easily then why this didn’t happen yet? Like in Shkreli case in 2016 https://www.theguardian.com/science/2016/dec/01/australian-students-recreate-martin-shkreli-price-hike-drug-in-school-lab …. You see by your inactivity you are the part of the problem.

You can answer this yourself. At the point you start assigning responsibility to me for solving problems created and perpetuated by billionaires, I'm not really interested in answering you.

I am assigning it to anybody. Do you truly believe that these “billionaires” will change that on their own? It is you, the American people, who needs to do something about it. In my home, I am doing what I need to by paying my bills (Apidra in Poland is about $8.90).

No. If you mean we should collectively force them to do so, or appropriate their wealth to do so, then yes, I would agree that it's our responsibility in that sense.

I agree. My point is that you cannot force them directly, because that would mean that they will find a way to overcome your limitations. Only way is to make them think it was their own idea. Just like in Inception. The easiest way is to hit them by their wallets.

As a guy from country that once tried to force something on their citizens, believe me, that will not work. All laws are like old fence, tiger will always jump over, the viper will always slip through, it only stops the cattle.
