The ad-driven world turns everything - *everything* - into a product. The art you made, the reporting you did, the selfie you took, the conversation you had with a friend, the time you spent reading this. Maybe you didn't see any money from any of those. Someone else did.
There are lots of layers that already have the mechanisms available to destroy it, but choose not to because they're owned by parties with a vested interest in the online ad economy.
