So, starts trying to port Doom source to Win64 as some things I saw were "concerning" when trying to compile it for BJX2, and Win64 is a sane intermediate. Quickly realizes this is probably some of the nastier code I have seen in a while.
I don't recall this. There certainly aren't any pointers in the WAD file, and IIRC DDT ran Doom on the DEC Alpha.

Not in terms of the format proper, but they were using pointers in a few of the structs, which caused them to, when read, get mangled versions of the data (due to the size mismatch). Ended up replacing these pointers with integer values, then it worked...
