A prohibitionist argument I keep seeing in my mentions is, "If all these [sex workers] are so happy with their job, why do they say they would never want their children to do it?" Which is hilarious because, uh, doesn't pretty much everyone feel that way about their jobs?

I know plenty of low-level retail workers who hope their children don't want to work in retail. I know teachers who say they will tell they kids not to go into education. Even famous actors often publicly state that they don't want their children to join the industry!

We all want our children to live better lives than we do. And when you work in a particular profession, you experience the negative things about it, and other professions–of which you know little–seem more appealing. So *of course* you would advise against taking up your trade.

SWERFs may as well say, "I've heard [sex workers] chatting to each other in a bar and complaining about their jobs" as evidence that we need to be rescued. I hear builders complain about their work, too! And cleaners! And writers! And EVERYONE!

(Also, FWIW, if I had a child and they grew up and decided sex work was a good option for them, I wouldn't mind at all. And I know other sex workers who think the same!)

I'm just going to feel like we've failed the next generation if they grow up and work is still necessary at all.
