If a technology is disruptive, then by its very nature it would cause fear, uncertainty and doubt. By saying that these responses are intentional acts by those wishing to undermine the project seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of technological advancement.

Poor choice of words on my part; I've not slept in a couple days. What I mean to say is, iota is attributing to malice what can easily be attributed to ignorance, in the case of this article. Dan Barber seems defensive, to a paranoid degree.

It's neither malice nor ignorance. It's minimal understanding of actual math and cryptography combined with a healthy intolerance of scams.
