  5. Fun fact: when you host a guided meditation, like, "visualise a mountain with a peaceful stream coming through the trees..." I literally just see the words "mountain, stream, trees" floating in the void.

    I want to find a music fest in Europe. Can you help? Ideal: - lots of actual instruments and musicians - gypsy, blues, folk, trad, jazz and cultures I haven't met before - more shuffle/ swing/ syncopate/ triple, less thud thud thud (i.e. electronic, rock, pop 👎)

    I choose based on my capacity in that moment. I don't want either my toughness or my weakness to be in charge, but to consciously make the choice in my full presence of mind. Courage or compassion. Both options are good.

    Then I consciously give myself a choice: 1. I can take the courageous path: 'pull my socks up', 'tough it out', and push thru the crap feelings 2. OR I take the compassionate path, virtually pat myself on the head and say 'there, there, it's ok, that's just life sometimes'

    My solution is to first talk myself thru recognition and acceptance: "this is anxiety, the physical symptoms are XYZ" and "it belongs" (i.e. stop avoiding and disowning). [see 's RAIN method for more: ]

    The dilemma arises in everyday moments, e.g.: I'm arbitrarily feeling intensely anxious about buying a bus ticket from the shop. Without balance I'm either neurotically self-critical and punishing, or I'm spineless and stuck. Took me years to find a tactic to 'solve' this.
