And the PCE came in today at a mild 2.2% annualized over the past six months, reinforcing the sizable decline in inflation almost to desired levels. Even without any further rate increases.

Here’s a # that merits attention: over the past 6 months, headline inflation has advanced at an annualized rate of only 1.8%. It seems the W.I.N. (Whip Inflation Now) is already here and we don’t need to overkill the economy by pushing on into a recession. Just let it play out!

A great day for many Americans who have been stuck in student loan debt, sometimes for years, some who were cheated out of the education they were promised, not sure they would ever get any help. President Biden has delivered meaningful relief. Hip hip Hooray!

Today, we warned schools about using deceptive recruitment and enrollment practices. We heard from U.S. armed forces service members, veterans, and military-connected students that some schools have misrepresented costs, incl. causing students to get loans they didn’t need. 1/3

Now Senators are dithering over whether to approve up to $2000 in COVID payments. While they dither, keep in mind that the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy - worth way more than $2000 in most cases - are a gift they keep getting EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

So President Trump is now blocking the transition, which means President-Elect Biden cannot access intelligence briefings. Reports also say that Trump hasn’t had a briefing since September. So is there simply no intelligence currently being conveyed within the U.S. government?

What a happy day this has been. But now comes the sad news that Alex Trebek, the Canadian who came to feel like a friend to so many of us here in America, has passed away. His uncommon poise and courage in face of the rotten deal that is cancer was a steady example for us all.
