I don't exactly know how to put this into words, but if Franco truly meant the film as an underdog story he could've let the guy say like a sentence, instead of making himself the center of attention like he does every other day of his life

At the risk of sounding like an incel, it felt like the popular dude in high school pretending to be friends with a kinda lonely, outcast kid, then going "SIKE" at the last minute and laughing at him with everyone else in the school
