Oh I definitely understand being different
I also live my life by the concept that one size does not fit all.

So teachers need to understand how children learn differently and be trained to adapt their teaching methods to adapt to each child's strongest learning abilities, and avoid their cognitive limitations.

We don't have teacher training in the science of reading in the US. Furthermore, teachers unions in the US fight in opposition of getting teachers trained for some reason.https://twitter.com/karenvaites/status/1343189070537744385?s=19 …

Makes you wonder why people spend 10s of thousands of dollars for a teaching education when they’re not prepared?

In their defense they don't know what they don't know. It's the teaching colleges that should know and should be preparing their graduates. Can you imagine doctors graduating and not knowing how to treat their patients. Not okay.

The anger is real. The discrimination is real. The ableism is real. The low expectations are real. My heart sinks wondering what would have happened to K if Covid did not happen. I would have never known what happens inside the class. How her disabilities cancel her as a child

Being a child with special needs Is not easy in this country. There are best practices AND there is reality. Those best practices don’t get translated inside the classroom. Lucky are those who have an educator who can research & train on their own to serve this unique needs

Ask Bush Gottlieb they're in CA. They're pushing garbage for the teachers unions disguised as IDEA funding.
