Public schools are not failing students. Public school teachers are not failing students. The system is failing public schools, teachers and students. Stop saying public schools and teachers are failing students when the system is setting them up to fail.

When I first taught in the public schools 56 years ago, I had to buy my own supplies. Teachers are still buying their own supplies. My French students had textbooks, but the county could not afford the workbooks that were supposed to go along with them.

Ironically, textbooks are budgeted in, but due to lack of transparency & accountability, they were never purchased or provided. As a SPED teacher, I contacted local vendors to send me samples kits, which were also paid in advance with tax dollars.
