What is it with clang/llvm on #FreeBSD not compiling? I'm using 12.1-RELEASE and the 12.1-RELEASE source and still it goes nuts, eating all of RAM before getting a kill. Compile the same file a couple of times more and suddenly it works.
It's always CLANG! What am I missing?

Well, I've compared the two runs and guess what. The second time it got further. Going for a third, to see whether it's further each time, or random. Most troubling.

If it's not behaving consistently (assuming you're not using meta mode, or you empty /usr/obj first) then I'd start wondering about hardware issues.

Thanks. It also builds if I kick it off from the shell. The obj is still 16M so that's probably correct - it's macro central in the source file. I'm working on the theory that it's s particularly big job, so I've reduced the ARC to 80MB and I'm running again, although this...
