Just count a billion rows: select count(*) from generate_series(1,1000) i, generate_series(1,1000) j, generate_series(1,1000) k; (be careful about using large generated series because those can spill to disk and introduce other overheads - better to crossjoin)

I would still want to make repeated measurements to get averaging effects though. I'm planning to actually include the average execution time and standard deviation in my benchmark.
