What a colorful reaction!
Orange Potassium Hexanitronickelate reacts w/ Ethylenediamine in MeOH to form a vibrant purple solution. After boiling, the mixture is filtered. The filtrate is promptly cooled in ice to get the beautiful red Dinitrobis(en)Nickel(II).
