I have been told personally that the service companions give them something to live for. That they worry what happens to the dog if they they die.

I have my special feline and birdie companions. They are the sweetest. I know it sounds strange to some but watching fat hens scratch for worms and listening to their vocalizations is calming. A warm kitty purring in your lap can also make you feel like you will survive

Having a pet is known to improve outcomes for a wife range of psychiatric conditions. Not at all surprised that a population with above-average levels of PTSD would be helped too

today’s The Medal of Honor recipients confirmed that not one veteran who has a service dog has committed suicide.
We must not only honor our Vets, but honor the dogs and animals that are in our lives.
