"unable to recover the data lost during this 2 hour period. This means you will likely continue to see slightly lower views and watch time numbers in your watch time reports for Dec 19.” Does this also mean ad plays and revenue are permanently lost during this period?

Tbh its two hours. It wont be a huge issue unless you uploading a video during or a few hours before this happened.

On small channel like ours, it doesn't make that much of a difference, on a channel like
@Thinknoodles , it could be 10's of thousands of views. When that is part of how you take care of your family, it is a much bigger issue.1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

It would be like your parents boss telling them, there was a problem in accounting last week, so you wont get paid for one day. Sorry. Even though you here and did all the work you normally do, we just can't get the computer to pay you. Your parents would be upset. Trust me.

That analogy isnt completely right. Although i dont know his actual average views per hour, i quickly went to his socialblade and got around 60k views for around 2 hours. Even with good CPM he probably couldnt have earned more than more than $150 from that amount of views...

... Sure that might be a big dent to other channels but not to one that nearly has 4 million subscribers. Maybe he has a bunch of midrolls though. I havent watched him for a while.
