Alternatively, could the following be used to give an A1200 two flash card readers? (Are flash cards faster than hard drives?) A simple way of transferring files from PC to Amiga using a removable storage device. Years ago I used 720kb floppy disks but PCs today don't come with them. Are there issues using flash cards for this purpose?

You will just need to install Fat95 and Compact.device both available from Aminet (free)

Thanks! But out of interest does the 3 way IDE cable work with the Amiga? And how do you get the card reader software onto the Amiga? I have a CD drive but I'd rather not burn CDs unnecessarily.

No not without extra hardware like a fast ATA card in the Amiga. To get the software on take out your cf card and put it in your PC and run winuae emulator :-)

Maybe easier if I send you a floppy disk lol

Sorry to bring this up again but would the Amiga recognise a flash card reader connected through an IDE interface without drivers? How about WinUAE?

No and Winuae can mount any drive including pc drives to be avilable within Amiga workbench. cf card needs to be plugged in via pcmcia Adaptor with drivers.

Thanks! Have I misunderstood the purpose of this? I thought it was for using flash cards in place of hard drives.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CF-IDE-44-PIN-Adapter-2-5-IDE-Lead-for-Amiga-600-Amiga-1200/163522328423?hash=item2612b0b767:g:EuYAAOSw2TVcVgpW …

Yes that is, but you need to set it up in winuae isi workbench disks or in a real Amiga :-) sorry for the confusion :-)

Is setting up a flash card any different to formatting a hard drive and installing the OS after booting from the Workbench disk?
