Thanks @XinlessV and @AmigaRob! I've opened up the Amiga and it looks like a capacitor near the corner where the power cable plugs in may have produced a yellow discharge - a bit like ear wax!
Does that sound familiar and is it possible to replace a capacitor on the motherboard?

How do you remove the capacitor? Desolder from underneath the motherboard?
Trust me I have my fair share boards coming in and find it’s their ‘mate’ tried to recap the board and caused pads to break off and cause more damage.. :-)

That’s why I had mine done by a Speedtest person, as it was the only thing I couldn’t do with this. My hands are too shaky for small delicate things like that.
