As someone who works in the engineering/ supply chain field I'd really like to see the source for these numbers since they look like POOMA statistics (POOMA = Pulled Out Of My Ass).

66% of which is gas and coal. 3. Cost to replace coal and gas ($2400/kw)(0.8x10*9kw) = $1920x10*9 ~ $2 Trill. 4. Over 10 yrs this is $200 Bill/yr. 5. So, could replace coal and gas in 10 yrs at cost of recent wars.

@WolfMaster4141 Should be included. But because of lower capacity factors for wind and solar, we would need double the number of plants so the cost to get the same deliverable power is about $4 Trill. If we made that replacement over 20 years, the annual cost is $200 Bill/yr

A point not mentioned: In 2018, we spent $3.7 Trill on HC, and HC inflation is expected to be ~5.5%/yr for the next decade. A simple calculation and you'll find that under our present system, we'll spend $48 Trill (today's $) for HC in the next decade. $33 or $48 Trill?

7. We would need a smart grid to move energy around. That is estimated to cost around $400 Bill, which adds $20 Bill/yr to the cost.

6. However, because of lower capacity factors, we would need double the number of plants so cost is $4 Trill for same energy production. If we made that replacement over 20 years, the cost is $200 Bill/yr.
